Definition of Cystitis:
An infection of the bladder.
Burning or stinging on urination. Bladder discomfort, a drawing feeling or the feeling of pressure on the bladder. Can re occur regularly. Can be debilitating and affect the mood. The doctor would typically have prescribed numerous courses of anti-biotics.
The Candida Relationship to Cystitis:
When Candida becomes systemic i.e it buries through the gut wall and enters the blood stream, it leaves tiny holes in the gut wall which then allow product from the bowel into the blood stream. This is what doctors call gut dysbiosis.
This sets our body’s alarm bells ringing as product from the bowel has entered the sterile environment of the blood stream and the risk of contamination becomes the primary focus. In addition to this emergency, the holes also allow tiny food particles from the intestines to pass into the blood which we know can produce food sensitivities, which in turn provoke an inflammatory response in the body.
This response engages the body’s policing system into ridding the offending antigens. Whilst our body continually fights off invading debris and food particles from the bowel it is unable to fend off or deal with any other inflammatory response or infection the body may encounter.
Cystitis is caused by bacteria traveling up the urethra which then lodges itself into the urethra wall causing a bacterial infection. Because your immune system is constantly drawn to dealing with the ongoing Candida problem you are exposed to recurrent infections of Cystitis.
What You Can Do:
Once the overgrowth of Candida is eradicated and the gut wall healed your immune system will be better able to fight the infection in your urethra.
Alongside our Candida Program we recommend you take our high strength Cranberry tablets which make it difficult for the bacteria to take hold in the urethera.
We do not recommend drinking cranberry juice as it contains sugar which in turn feeds the bacteria in the urethera and help it to grow.
After completing Phase Two of your Candida Program you can chose to include our specific remedy to help with any lingering infection you may have. The reason we wait until Phase 2 is that your symptoms may completely disappear just by ridding your body of the overgrowth of Candida. This often happens.
If however, you have some residual symptoms then we advise you take our specific remedy of Citricidel (grapefruit seed extract) available below which may help further.
