Bloating

Definition of Bloating:

Is the distension of the gut or stomach causing discomfort and sometimes abdominal pain.

Typical Complaints:

Bloating, swelling, tightening of clothes round the waist, excess wind.

The Candida Relationship to Bloating:

When Candida becomes systemic i.e. it buries through the gut wall and enters the blood stream, it leaves tiny holes in the gut wall which then allow product from the bowel into the blood stream. This is what doctors call Gut Dysbiosis.

This sets our body’s alarm bells ringing as product from the bowel has entered the sterile environment of the blood and the risk of contamination becomes the primary focus.

When the body is under attack it swells around the area, similar to when an infection is present. These holes allow tiny food particles into the blood stream which we know can produce food intolerances.

It is the transition of product from the bowel into the bloodstream which causes an inflammatory response in the gut. This inflammatory response is partly responsible for causing the bloating. The other contributory factor is that an overgrowth of Candida in the gut causes increased fermentation in the gut which also causes bloating.

What You Can Do:

In order to stop the transit of product from the bowel to the bloodstream and to decrease the fermentation process in the gut we first need to erradicate the overgrowth of Candida by following our Candida Program. Once the gut wall is healed and the eco system in the bowel restored, bloating should cease.
